A season to celebrate at Beachlands Maraetai AFC

•By Ashleigh Cripps

More children playing football, growing girls’ programmes and two league titles made 2026 a big year for Beachlands Maraetai AFC.

As a club partner, Ray White (FIVE AM) Eastern Group is proud to support the players, families, coaches and volunteers who make local football happen. Following the season, BMAFC’s president shared this message: “Thank you again for your continued support of BMAFC. Partnerships like Ray White play a vital role in helping our club grow and creating opportunities for local children and families to get involved in football.”

More young players getting involved

Junior registrations grew by 20% across the club’s boys’ teams from under-5s to under-12s, with strong participation in the First Kicks and Fun Football programmes. A new under-4 cohort also gave the club’s youngest players a chance to get involved, have fun and discover the game.

Girls’ participation increased by 40%. The club introduced a dedicated Girls’ Skills Programme to support player development, alongside a new Senior Social Women’s team.

That growth brought another first for BMAFC: a separate girls’ session at junior prizegiving. It was a lovely way to recognise a growing part of the club.

Results worth celebrating

More BMAFC teams took part in club tournaments across Auckland this season. Among the highlights, the club’s top under-10 boys’ team finished runners-up in the plate while competing against some of Auckland’s top academy teams.

The Men’s Under-23s and Over-40s both claimed their league titles, giving the club two championship-winning teams to celebrate.

Behind those results were the coaches and volunteers giving their time each week. The club also saw more people stepping up to help meet the needs of its growing player base.

Supporting football close to home

Our sponsorship helps BMAFC invest in equipment, coaching resources, skills programmes and player development. These are practical things that make a difference at training and on match day, helping football remain accessible and fun for local families.

As the president explained:

“Your sponsorship plays an important role in ensuring football remains accessible and fun, while supporting the continued growth of both our boys’ and girls’ programmes and helping more young players develop confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the game.”

Congratulations to everyone at BMAFC on the 2026 season. To the players, coaches, volunteers and families, thank you for the time and energy you put into your club. We’re pleased to be part of it and look forward to seeing you back on the pitch next season.
